To understand the concept of “commitment,” recall the old parable about the argument between the chiken and the pig as to whose contribution to a bacon-and-eggs breakfast was most important.

Всё-таки вариант с "трудовым подвигом" мне нравится больше.

Разницу между обычной и героической работой легко понять на примере яичницы с беконом: курица на неё просто поработала, а вот свинья совершила трудовой подвиг.
